I am a M.S. student in the Department of Agronomy at Kansas State University. Growing up an Iowa farm boy, I was very active on the farm as well as the National FFA Organization. During these experiences my passion for agriculture and solving problems grew, out of which a career interest in agronomy became clear. After graduating with a B.S. from Iowa State University, it was easy to transition into Kansas State University where my passion could be further channeled through teaching and weed science research. Weeds cost agriculture and society not only money but food as well. Through my research, I am developing new systems that have direct solutions for farmers in managing tough to control weeds. After completing my M.S. I plan to work in industry as a technical field agronomist as a way to help farmers find solutions.
