Enrique Michel has been at PepsiCo for 10 years where he has led the technical development, commercialization, and global collaboration of projects such as Lay’s Design Transformation and Ruffles Deep Ridged, a product delivering $300+ million in revenues for PepsiCo across 23 countries. One of his most exciting experiences was to serve as the Lay’s technical brand manager in the Greater China business unit based in Shanghai where he was challenged to develop a technical business plan to spport Lay’s innovation, quality, and productivity agendas. He has also served as the President of Adelante, a 1500+ member organization part of Frito-Lay’s employee resource groups (ERGs). Enrique is an inventor, he holds four patents currently in use by PepsiCo, a trade secret, and has five more patent applications pending. Among his patents are: Reduction of Acrylamide formation on food items, Ruffles Deep Ridged shape design and assembly, and Characterization of defects through imaging on food (digital defects). He was the recipient of the 2013 PepsiCo Academy of Sciences, the 2011 FLNA Leading the Walk award, and a PepsiCo Chairman’s award in 2009. He recently graduated with an MBA in Finance and Strategy from SMU Cox School of Business, has a Master of Science from Georgia Tech, and a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering (with highest honors - Summa Cum Laude equiv.) from Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla (Mexico).
