Agriculture Future of America
In the realm of food science and human nutrition, Nicholas has developed a special interest in food safety and childhood obesity. He has taken many food science and human nutrition courses that have aided in his learning about the industry. He furthers his education by attending agricultural leadership conferences and networking professionally with industry professionals who visit the University of Illinois campus. In fall 2015, he plans to conduct undergraduate research that focuses on childhood obesity and genetics or sensory science through the McNairs Scholars Program. Nicholas' plans following completion of his current studies are to move directly into graduate work towards a master’s in Business Administration. After he earns his master’s degree, he intends to start working on his Ph.D. in food safety or sensory science. In the future, he would like to work in the area of research on childhood obesity and food safety. It is in food safety and quality assurance that he believes that he can make the greatest contribution, utilizing his theoretical background and creativity as a scientist.
